The diagram illustrates the steps and equipment involved in the process of manufacturing bricks for the building industry.
Overall, the production has multiple stages, starting from collecting clay and ending with packaging and delivering bricks.
The brick making process commences with digging out the clay from the ground by using diggers. The clay is then put through a metal grid to be filtered, which later passes on a roller. After the clay is mixed with sand and water, the stage of shaping into bricks takes place, involving the use of either moulds or wire cutters.
In the following stage, the clay bricks are placed in drying ovens for one to two days. Next, the bricks undergo the heating step in a kiln in which they are first heated at moderate temperature (200 – 980 degrees Celsius) and then at high temperature (870 – 1,300 degrees Celsius) before spending two to three days in a cooling chamber. Once the cooling stage is completed, the finished bricks come to the step of packaging, ready to be dispatched for consumption.
