The diagram shows the production of canned fruit. Overall, there are multiple stages in the process, starting from fruit being hand-picked, through various processing steps with the involvement of different equipment, and ending with the delivery of complete products to retail establishments.
First, the fruit is harvested when it is ripe in orchards before being transported to the cannery by large trucks. Next, the fruit is washed and have its quality checked to leave out bruised or inferior fruit, and only high-quality fruit comes to the following step of cold storing
In the next stage, after being weighed and graded, the fruit is peeled and sliced in two to remove the cores or seeds. At this stage, the fruit halves are ready to be put into cans, which is done by a mechanical device.
Once the cans have been filled, they are sealed and cooked to sterilise the contents. A label is then attached on each can, after which all the labelled cans are stored in a warehouse. They now can be delivered to shops for sale to the public.
