Who gave you your name?
Traditionally, in Vietnam, the names of newborn children are given by either their parents or relatives, their grandparents for example. However, in my case, an acquaintance of my parents came up with my name, and they just instantly agreed, because neither of them had any idea what to name me.

- creative/kriːˈeɪtɪv/: sáng tạo
Does your name have any particular meaning?
Most Vietnamese names do, I suppose, and mine is not an exception. My name can be interpreted as a bright moon. In my country, the moon is considered beautiful and calm. I assume my parents did have somewhat an expectation when they agreed to name me that.

You know, my name used to be a popular one back when I was born. The consequence of this is the fact that a huge number of girls that share the similar name with me at school, which has been quite confusing. The name "Nguyet" is still common now, but parents have been creative enough to think of a different middle name.
