Bên cạnh những chủ để như: “Education”, “Healthcare”, “Technology”, “Society”, “Family” – Gia đình có lẽ là một trong những chủ đề quen thuộc với những bạn đang chuẩn bị cho kỳ thi IELTS.
Những đề bài liên quan đến gia đình tương đối đa dạng, các đề có thể tập trung vào những vấn đề như: parenting skills (Các kỹ năng là cha mẹ, cách cha mẹ nuôi dạy con cái), Family’s tradition (các truyền thống của gia đình, lịch sử của gia đình) hay chủ đề về mối quan hệ trong gia đình gắn với những phát triển trong xã hội như công nghệ, kinh tế, …

I. PHÂN TÍCH CHỦ ĐỀ FAMILY TRONG WRITING TASK 2
Với những đề tài theo topic Family ở trên, chúng ta sẽ tập trung vào phân tích những thay đổi trong gia đình khi mọi người bận bịu với guồng quay của công việc, các mối quan hệ bên ngoài hay sự phát triển của công nghệ trong thế giới hiện đại.
Thông thường với dạng bài này, chúng ta sẽ luôn luôn có được luận điểm rằng những yếu tố trong xã hội hiện đại như công việc, công nghệ ... sẽ mang lại ảnh hưởng tiêu cực tới mối quan hệ giữa các thành viên trong gia đình.
Ảnh hưởng tiêu cực ở đây là:
- Việc những thành viên đó không còn có nhiều khoảng thời gian để trò chuyện, chia sẻ với nhau những câu chuyện hàng ngày, những chuyện vui hay buồn một cách thường xuyên như lúc trước nữa, những bữa cơm đầy đủ cũng thưa thớt. Thay vào đó bởi quá bận rộn mà có thể mỗi người dùng bữa vào những thời điểm khác nhau
- Cho dù có ngồi cùng ăn một bữa cơm, một hình ảnh chúng ta sẽ không hiếm gặp hiện nay đó là mỗi người cầm một chiếc điện thoại thông minh hay một chiếc máy tính bảng để làm việc, để chơi hay để nói chuyện với những người bạn trên mạng một cách say mê.
Các bạn có thể linh hoạt áp dụng những ý này vào những bài tương tự có sự kết hợp giữa “Family” và “Economy”, hay “Family” và “Technology”… để không cảm thấy cạn kiệt về ý tưởng trong phòng thi nhé.
II. CÁC BƯỚC VIẾT BÀI
Đề bài:

Khác với những dạng bài như Discussion hay Agree – Disagree, chúng ta sẽ phải tự nghĩ cách để chia hai đoạn thân bài sao cho phù hợp, thì với dạng bài “Two-part questions” – Dạng bài gồm hai câu hỏi trong đề bài, các bạn sẽ xác định được ngay hai đoạn cần đó sẽ giải quyết vấn đề gì bằng cách trả lời các câu hỏi được đưa ra ở đề bài.

- Đề bài yêu cầu chúng ta đưa ra những nguyên nhân và ảnh hưởng của xu hướng, bởi vậy mỗi đoạn của phần thân bài chúng ta sẽ tập trung vào từng nội dung này.

Mở bài:
- Diễn đạt lại ý của đề bài và nói rằng bài viết sẽ phân tích nguyên nhân và ảnh hưởng của xu hướng.
Đoạn thân bài 1:
Đưa ra nguyên nhân cho xu hướng này (Why?)
- Cuộc sống bận rộn và sức ép từ công việc khiến cho mọi người phải làm việc ngoài giờ và dành ít thời gian hơn cho gia đình
- Sự phát triển của các phương tiện giải trí (mạng xã hội) khiến mọi người ít tương tác trực tiếp với nhau
Đoạn thân bài 2:
Đưa ra các ảnh hưởng của xu hướng (What effects?)
- Đối với cá nhân: gia đình là nơi mà mọi người có thể chia sẻ những khó khăn trong cuộc sống không có cơ hội tương tác, chia sẻ khiến cho mọi người dễ bị stress hơn
- Đối với gia đình: những thành viên trong gia đình ít có thời gian gắn kết với nhau làm mọi người không hiểu nhau, bố mẹ không nắm bắt được con mình đang phát triển thế nào, vợ chồng không hiểu nhau có thể gây ra xung đột
Kết bài:
- Khẳng định lại có 2 nguyên nhân dẫn đến xu hướng này và đồng thời xu hướng này gây ảnh hưởng đến cả cá nhân lẫn gia đình của chính họ.
