Sample Answer
I have met a lot people in this world, and I have mostly not liked the people I have met. I personally feel that it is very difficult to consider a person as your favorite person as, we as human being keep on changing our opinion.
There is a person in this world who I consider to be my favorite person in the world. My favorite person is Mr. James
James is a very successful businessman in Canada. I met him for the first time when I was studying in Canada. He came to my college to deliver a lecture about business management, and since then I formed a unique kind of bond with him.
After the lecture I developed a relationship with him which ultimately resulted in our friendship and I came to know about his life. He started his business roughly 9 years ago and now he is a well established businessman. He had only $100 in his pocket for the first time he started the business and now he has a net worth of $ 100 million. Besides adding the zeroes he also contributed a lot of towards the educational industry.
Before meeting this person I used to come up with all kinds of excuses for not working, but after meeting him I realized that when a person wants to do something by the grace of God he gets all the strength to do it. I used to leave my work to the next day, but after meeting James I realized that there is no next day, we should try to complete everything now. I started organizing my life and now I can say that I am managing my life in a good way. He affected my life in a very positive way and now I can easily say that he is good person and motivator for me.

#Topic “Describe your favorite song.”
You should say:
– What is the song about?
– When did you first hear the song?
– Why is it your favorite?
Band 8.0+ Sample Answer
Honestly speaking, for the most part, I would probably say that I have a great passion for listening to music and indeed I have listened like thousands of songs so far. However, if I have to pick out a song that I like the most, I would probably choose the song Million Years Ago by Adele. By gorgeous lyrics and melody, it’s like a piece of cake for Adele to make me addicted tothis song. A significant feature that I should mention is the song’s meaningful content. It is a regretful callinginside an adult who has born his soul on the way of growing up and earning his stripes. Every now and then I feel he is so desperate that he could do anything to escape the cycle of his life but after all he can’t afford to do so. The reason why I am so fond of this song has something to do with the fact that it provokes so many beautiful memories from my childhood. Although this song is a sad song, it opens my eyes to many things in life, one of them is that you should not take anything for granted, even the simplest one, try to live to your fullest so that one day you would not have to regret that much about the journey that you have been through. Fairly speaking, Million Years Ago is a really good songs for self – reflecting especially when you find yourself lost in the super busy world nowadays.

You should say:
- What the thing is?
- How do you make it?
- Why do you like it?
Band 8.0+ Sample Answer
I guess I could begin by saying something about what this thing is. In fact, I am not that meticulous and patient therefore the things that I have created by myself can be counted on the fingers of one hand. However one thing that made me really proud of is the kite that I made when I was 7 years old. In fact, it was also the very first thing that I created all the parts from scratch. Another part worth mentioning is the making process of this toy. Well, my kite had the shape of a diamond and was made mainly of paper. Considering the fact that I had never done anything like this before, it’s not astonishing to say that I spent almost three days in a row to complete just the fundamental parts. The first step was attaching paper to a bamboo frame. Although this sounds quite simple, it was absolutely not as easy as a piece of cake since I had to keep the balance for the kite. After that, it came to the issue of assembling lots of colorful light weight pieces in order to make the tail. The thorny part was ensuring the flying ability of the kite even when it was attached with a long tail. Until now, I still remember the gorgeous feeling when I completed the toy which was considered as a treasure back then. I guess this was mainly because it gave me a sense on own achievement and pride whenever I played with it or talked about it to my friends. In my childhood, the whole world was just as simple and funny as a party to be thrown – like a famous singer said.
Vocabulary:
- Meticulous (a): showing great attention to detail
- Count something on the fingers of one hand (idiom): say that something is really scarce
- Start from scratch (idiom): start from the very first part
- Fundamental (a): basic and important
- In a row (idiom): continuously
- Assemble (v): put together
- Piece of cake (idiom): easy and not requires lots of effort
- Thorny (a): very difficult
- Ensure (v): to make sure
- Gorgeous (a): very pleasant, beautiful and attractive
- Throw a party (idiom): to hold, to arrange a party.
#Topic: "Describe someone you know who is good at cooking"
You should say:
- who this person is
- how you know him or her
- what kinds of food they cook
- and explain why you think this person is good at cooking
Sample Answer
I’m going to talk to you about my friend Annabelle. She’s the best cook I know and she’s made lots of great meals for me. I know that every time I go around to her place to eat that I’ll be given something wonderful.
Annabelle isn’t a professional chef or anything like that- although I do think that she could easily make a living as a cook. In fact she’s a lawyer and has a full-time job that means she can only ever cook in her spare time.
I first got to know Annie when we were at college together. We were both first year students and didn’t know anyone else and we became close because we lived next door to each other in the accommodation block. Even back then she was a terrific cook and she would invite me over to her room on a regular basis. Neither of us had much money but while I survived on a diet of marmite sandwiches, she would make soups and stews – the sort of really practical food that lasts for a while and can be re-heated and costs very little to make because the ingredients are so cheap.
What kind of food does she cook? Well, she’s got a little more adventurous since out student days and she now has a huge variety of dishes. She’s quite experimental and so you can never quite tell what kind kind of food will be served up when you go around. It could be traditional French cuisine, a Spanish paella or even a curry.
I think what makes her so good at cooking is that she loves food herself and she loves entertaining people. She makes food that she thinks people will enjoy.

“Describe a language other than English that you would like to learn.”
You should say:
– what the language is
– where it is spoken
– what you think would be difficult
– and what would be easy about learning the language and explain why you would like to learn it.
Band 8.0+ Sample Answer
Learning a second language not only adds up your skills but also offers enormous benefitsfor your brain and personal growth. Additionally, being bilingual or multilingual expands your knowledge across the country’s border and provides you easy access to the understanding of other cultures. Therefore, beside English, Spanish sits high in my must-learn list due to its wide application and beautiful culture.
Needless to say, Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world and one of the six official languages used in United Nations conferences and statements. Spanish is spoken in most countries in South and Central America and in the US, over 50 million people are using Spanish either as their mother tongue or second language. As a result, knowing Spanish would absolutely widen your horizon, develop your sense of appreciation for Hispanic culture as well as transform your travel experience as who knows when you would bump into some Spanish friends on your adventure. Many have said that Spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn thanks to its phonetic pronunciation and its similarity with English, in terms ofvocabulary. However, it’s easier said than done. No matter how simple and intriguing that may sound, without full commitment and self-discipline, being able to speak Spanish would be a far-fetched idea. Therefore, in order to meet my goal and not to get demotivated along the way, I would have to find a learning partner and we would fight this tough war together.
Vocabulary & Useful expression
- application (n): practical use of something
- mother tongue (n): the language that you first learn to speak when you are a child
- appreciation (n): pleasure that you have when you recognize and enjoy the good qualities of somebody/something
- in terms of: used to show what aspect of a subject you are talking about or how you are thinking about it
- commitment (n): the willingness to work hard and give your energy and time to a job or an activity
- self-discipline (n): the ability to make yourself do something, especially something difficult or unpleasant
- far-fetched (a): very difficult to believe
- demotivated (a): feeling that it is not worth making an effort

# Topic 2 : "enjoy"
"Describe a game or sport you enjoy playing."
You should say:
- What kind of sport it is
- Who you play it with
- Where you play it
- and explain why you enjoy playing it
Sample IELTS Speaking Response:
I enjoy playing various kinds of brain games online. There are a number of different websites I visit on a regular basis in order to play these games by myself. The objective of the games is to exercise different areas of your brain so that you preserve and enhance your memory and also expand and develop your brain capacity.
The games are of various kinds. Some enable you to practice your verbal skills. Others test logical reasoning, spatial skills and visual memory. I can keep track of my scores, so that each time I play, my goal is to do better than in the past – to outdo myself, so to speak. In addition, if I want, I can compare my scores to others who play online. This aspect is intriguing, but frankly it doesn't interest me much. I don&'t regard this as a competition with anyone else. It is something I do simply to sharpen my mental abilities and improve myself.
In fact, one of my favorite games is supposed to be the best for brain fitness. It involves solving a number of simple math problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as quickly as possible. I really hope these games will enable me to preserve my intellect and my memory into old age.

Topic 3: Environment
"Describe a problem that affects the environment in the area where you live"
Sample Answer:
There are so many problems that negatively affect the environment in our area and among these, the density of population, in my opinion, is the most severe one. While in many countries, less than 100 people live in one square kilometre, we have got around thousand of people living in one square kilometre. Because of this high population and population density in city areas, lots of problems are arising.
The expenditure to support living is quite high compared to the average earning of the people, a heavy traffic has become a common scenario in the roads and as a consequence, lots of time is killed every day. The lower economic people are not getting the proper education and hospital facility, crime has increased than ever, lots of unplanned and risky constructions have been established, the environment is getting polluted and seems like no one cares.
There are many reasons that caused this outburst of this mass population in our city and among those, the most influential reason is the centralization of industry in this city. Most of the factory, offices and organisations are located in this city and people from all area of the country are coming here to find a living. The unemployment in rural areas is another reason why people are trying to stay here. The political reason not to take strict decisions on making equal opportunity in the country is another reason. The businesses and job opportunity attract people to come and live here in this city.
People can feel the heat of this uncontrolled population and the problems are creating for that but they have little control over it. We all suffer from the problems and talk about it but I have not seen any big movement to solve this problem. On the other hand, the political leaders who can take initiatives to lessen the problem are sometimes corrupted to take appropriate and honest steps.
There are lots of theories to solve this problem and seems like we all know about it. First of all, decentralisation should be done and industries and factories that can be moved to other areas should be moved promptly. Proper education and job sectors should be ensured so that people can earn their living at their cities rather than coming here. Local government can be formed to support and improve each area of the country. Each local government should be able to invest and decide about the development projects in their area.
People naturally want to live in a better place where they can find the necessary infrastructure, daily needs and can earn a living. If that can be ensured throughout the country, this problem can be reduced.
