Bên cạnh từ vựng, thì thành ngữ cũng là một trong những thành phần thường xuyên xuất hiện trong các bài nghe của IELTS. Sau đây là 1 số thành ngữ rất hay về "Work-life balance", các bạn bổ sung vào sổ tay "IDIOMS for IELTS" của mình để học nhé:
1. Pace of life: Nhịp độ của cuộc sống
Ex: “I really can’t keep up with the pace of life in London, I think I will move to the country and try to get a job there”
2. Rat race: cuộc đua hung hãn ở thành phố lớn
Ex – “I think I will try to leave this rat race and start up my own business from home”
3. Progress up the corporate ladder: Tiến lên những nấc thang thành đạt;
Ex – “If I keep working hard, eventually I should be able to progress up the corporate ladder”
4. To take time off: nghỉ một chút
Ex– “I’ve been working so many long hours lately, I really need to take some time off to relax”.
5. All work and no play : làm việt quần quật không ngưng nghỉ
Ex– “You must take a holiday soon, life is not just all work and no play”

If you look at this chart you can see how we plan our projects. This one is a survey we’re working on this year about where people liked to shop. OK? Well, we always start by having a team meeting. That’s in the first column called tasks.
=> Đáp án câu 1 là B –" tasks".
So, in this team meeting we decide what we need to do, who’s going to do it and ...err ... when it's got to be ready. Right? So you can see here in the second column, we’ve got the start date of the project.
That's the 23rd January.
=> Cột số 2 phải điền E - "start date"
That’s the same day we have the team meeting. If you look down the tasks column you can see that the first thing we have to do is write a draft questionnaire. You know, like an outline of the questions we want to ask. Then we have to check the questionnaire to make sure the questions are right. If you look at the lines in column three, you can see the dates when we have to complete important tasks in the project. These are what we call milestones in the project.
=> Đáp án là “ milestones" (chuỗi ngày bạn phải hoàn thành những nhiệm vụ quan trọng cho dự án).
For example, when we’ve checked the questionnaire on the 25th April, we’ll have reached a milestone, and when we’ve completed the survey on the 30th June, we'll have reached another milestone. On the 15th August, when we finish entering the data on the database, we’ll have finished the first phase of the project.
=> Ngày 15/08 là ngày hoàn thành “the first phase of the project”.
The second phase of the project involves writing the report. We’ll be doing that between 15th August and the 15th September. And that’s the deadline for the project to be handed to the client.
=> That =15th September => Đáp án phải là“deadline for the project”.
