Tối đa điểm số với dạng Map Labelling trong phần thi Listening

Map Labelling thường xuất hiện trong Part 2 hoặc Part 3 của bài thi Listening. Đây là dạng câu hỏi khá hóc búa cho những bạn không giỏi xác định phương hướng. Dưới đây là một vài lưu ý giúp bạn vượt qua nỗi sợ và chinh phục dạng bài này nhé!

 

1. Có gì trong dạng Map labelling?

• Ở dạng câu hỏi này, thí sinh sẽ điền hoặc nối tên có sẵn của các cơ sở vật chất lên một bản đồ đơn giản (ví dụ: một tòa nhà, một phần của thị trấn, một thư viện, một bảo tàng, …). Các câu trả lời thường được chọn từ một danh sách cho trước hoặc do thí sinh tự điền.
• Dạng câu hỏi này giúp đánh giá khả năng nghe hiểu sự mô tả về một địa điểm cùng với khả năng kết hợp giữa nghe và quan sát một hình minh hoạ, bao gồm khả năng nhận diện ngôn ngữ thể hiện các mối quan hệ và chỉ dẫn không gian (ví dụ: straight on/through the far door).

2. Những điều cần lưu ý

• Tương tự như các dạng bài khác, việc nhìn tổng quan qua bản đồ để có một khái niệm chung về các từ phải nghe là khá cần thiết. Trong khi tìm hiểu bản đồ, hãy thử trả lời các câu hỏi sau:
• Tên bản đồ là gì?
• Bản đồ có la bàn hay không? Nếu có la bàn thì khả năng rất cao là bài nghe sẽ chỉ đường theo hướng “Đông – Tây – Nam – Bắc”.
• Hiện tại bạn đang ở vị trí nào? (Hãy tìm các từ như “Gate”, “Entrance”, “You are here”, …). Thông thường, vị trí bắt đầu sẽ nằm ở cạnh dưới của bản đồ.
• Tìm các điểm tham chiếu (thường là các địa điểm đã có sẵn chú thích trên hình).
• Cũng đừng quên quan sát thật kỹ từng chỗ cần điền để xác định thêm về khía cạnh ngữ pháp (danh từ số ít hay số nhiều, danh từ chung hay danh từ riêng, …)
• Đương nhiên, ở dạng này, việc ghi nhớ và nghe ra các cụm từ chỉ phương hướng là điều bắt buộc. Dưới đây là một vài cụm từ cơ bản, sẽ xuất hiện khá thường xuyên mà các bạn nên “làm quen”:
• on the left/right; on the top left/right of; to my/our/your left/ right
• in the bottom/top right/left (hand) corner
• opposite/ next/ adjacent to .../ beside ...
• on the far/other side of; in front of; over there, etc.
• to the south of, in the south east, in the north west corner, a little to the west, …
• Ngoài ra, các từ chỉ thứ tự như: “before”, “then”, “now”, “after that”, … cũng là những dấu hiệu khá hữu ích nếu bạn nắm vững.

Questions 14-20

If we start here at the bottom you can see Parkside Street, where the main entrance to the park is.

On the left of the entrance, 1. __________________ the plan, there will be a block of 40 studio flats. On the other side of the entrance there will be some workshops for local businesses. There will also be another entrance here on the top right which leads into Pear Street.

Here in the centre of the park we will have an ornamental lake with paths radiating north, south, east and west to the different areas of the park. 2. __________________ just by the Pear Street entrance, there will be a large sports area with two football pitches and four tennis and volley ball courts. Just here beside the pitches on the same side of the path will be an outdoor swimming pool.
